We’re known for doing things differently around here. So when it starts to rain right before a ceremony, we’re excited to embrace it! We know how it can add a whimsical, romantic vibe to the photographs and we don’t shy away from it. When we pulled up to the beach for Casey and Dan’s adventurous Oahu elopement, we asked them if they wanted to wait out the rain or go have a good time in it.
Casey’s response? “We are ready for a Wild and Free adventure!” We’ve never heard a better sentence!
They got the best of both worlds for their ceremony. Clouds hung in the mountains creating a dreamlike backdrop for their vow exchange. The sun eventually parted the clouds, revealing the mountains and gorgeous blue sky, just in time for their first kiss! They spent time celebrating with their family before their first adventure together as husband and wife – an epic hike. This particular hike can get muddy and dangerous after it rains, so we have to make a judgment call if there has been bad weather. Because the storm was over as quickly as it started, it was safe to venture up the trail. We had the whole place to ourselves and made the most of the breathtaking views.
Casey and Dan’s adventure elopement is one we will never forget! They set out to plan a unique day where they could fully live in the moment together, and their day was the definition of that sentiment. The photos below are a glimpse of what it can look like to elope Wild and Free!
